A Short Love Story - Carlos Lascano

Carlos is a multi-faceted artist who has successfully made incursions into painting, illustration, comics, photography, animation and special effects. He finally decided that filmmaking was his medium of choice because it represented the coming together of the different forms of expression of his artistic universe. In 1997, he completed Law School, but decided not to practice and to dedicate his career entirely to his art creation.
He has written numerous short and feature films. Many of them have earned him international awards.He has worked in advertising with large Argentinian and international corporations, such as McDonald´s, Fate Tires, Telefónica, among others.
In 1998 he concluded his first feature film, "Marionettes", for which he received the Silver Prize as "Best Experimental Feature Film" in the United States´ Worldfest Flagstaff.
In 2000 he was awarded the Georges Meliès Prize for his work "Les Amants", and was sent to Paris to meet with large local production companies. The film has been recently chosen to be published as one of the best short films that won the Georges Meliès.
In 2002 Carlos arrived in Spain to film, by request of Television de Catalunya, a remake of his second feature film, "Perverse Game". From that moment on he started working nonstop as filmmaker, editor, script writer, special effects supervisor and animator for cinema, television, documentaries and advertisement, not only for Spain but also France, Italy, United Kingdom and the United States. He wrote and directed video clips for recognized Spanish musicians and has worked with important artists like Javier Bardem, Alex de la Iglesia, among others.
He has been in charge of the Edition and Postproduction Department in "In Vitro Films" (Barcelona) for three years.
His original artwork, editing and animation directing of "The Legend of the Scarecrow" earned the short film over 20 awards worldwide, and a pre-selection to the 2005 Oscar Academy Awards.
He is currently working freelance at the head of his team developing some of his new own projects. These include video clips, feature films and animation shorts.
